2016 Campaign Announcement Made
Community Leader to Run for State Senate
May 10th, 2016 Kristi St. Laurent announced today that she will be running for NH Senate District 19 for Derry, Hampstead and Windham. A Campaign Committee has been established with the Secretary of State and St. Laurent states she intends to officially declare as a candidate when the filing period opens in June.
"This next term will be pivotal for New Hampshire, and our District, on many fronts," said St. Laurent. "How the state responds to the opioid crisis after the immediate, emergency measures are put in place will be crucial. Other key issues such as energy supply and costs, population shifts, education, health care and housing affect not only our individual lives but also the economic climate in New Hampshire. It is the role of Senator to face these issues head-on, working towards solutions without ideological bias. I am ready, with the help of the residents of District 19, to take on this challenge."
St. Laurent is a former resident of Derry, graduate of Pinkerton Academy and has lived in Windham for seventeen years with her husband Rob and three children. She is a Physical Therapist by training with a Masters of Science Degree and twenty five years of experience. Currently, she practices at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem.
St. Laurent was elected to her third term on the Windham Planning Board in March. She is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Board and has served two years as Chair.
