Why am I running? People ask me this question all the time, and then in the same breath express frustration with government. It won't change on its own, so I want the opportunity to change it from within.
* I support responsible tax cuts and responsible spending.
* I support affordable health care in NH as it makes for a stronger, healthier workforce. Plus, it brings my Federal tax dollars back to New Hampshire.
* As a parent of children in public schools, I support school choice for public school options to best serve our students.
* I recognize the importance of completing the widening of I-93, and aid to our towns for road repairs and other infrastructure. I would like to see NH make a well-informed decision on rail and the effects on jobs, commuting and the economy.
* I support maintaining the concealed carry permit and other common-sense gun legislation. I support the right to bear arms but feel we should do what we can to prevent guns from getting so easily into the wrong hands in light of the escalation of gun violence.

Kristi St. Laurent Announces State Senate Campaign for District 19 Seat
Community Leader to Run for State Senate, Will Be Independent Voice
May 11th, 2016 Kristi St. Laurent announced today that she will be running for NH Senate District 19 to represent the towns of Derry, Hampstead and Windham.
"This next term will be pivotal for New Hampshire, and our District, on many fronts," said St. Laurent. "How the state responds to the opioid crisis after the immediate, emergency measures are put in place will be crucial. Other key issues such as energy supply and costs, demographic shifts, education, healthcare and housing affect not only our individual lives but also the economic climate in New Hampshire. It is the role of Senator to face these issues head-on, working towards solutions without ideological bias. I am ready, with the help of the residents of District 19, to take on this challenge."
